ELC courses

These courses are designed for students and mature students wishing to improve their English language skills for general use, Cambridge and / or IELTS exams. Also ‘ELC’ Trinity College London exam preparation. Trinity provides Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) across the UK. These tests are approved for applications to the UKVI for visas, British Citizenship and Leave to Remain. Graded Examinations in Spoken English (GESE) – A1, A2 and B1 tests. Integrated Skills in English (ISE) – B1 and B2 tests.

Our courses are designed to be practical, efficient and to encourage you to improve your English. They are well planned by our experienced and enthusiastic teachers, lively and fun, for you to make fast progress in English. All courses will allow you to activate your passive English and build on what you already know. A positive attitude to study, determination and motivation will help you gain your goal.

All students take an ‘ELC’ online placement test together with a student profile needs analysis, to determine their level of ability in English. They then join the group appropriate to their level. A Progress Test may be taken and must be passed before you move up a level. Alternatively you may be upgraded, by special recommendation, from your teacher.

A graded ‘ELC’ Certificate showing your CEFR English language level and ability in the 6 skills ( Speaking, Pronunciation, Listening, Reading, Writing and Motivation / Attitude) will be given at the end of the course – click to see a sample

Gonzalo

I arrived here by coincidence and I couldn’t be happier. I met a lot of great people and had fun in the classes and I learnt a lot of English too. I would recommend ‘ELC’ if you want to learn English it is the best way to do it, it’s not like learn in a job, because they can correct your mistakes. You meet a lot of people with more or less the same level of English as you and it makes it easier to go out and communicate with other people.

I have met some good friends at ‘ELC’ from other countries. I will always keep in touch with them. When I came to England my English was rubbish. I see, it’s better now.
Bianca and Mr McBurney are really good teachers. Especially, McBurney teaches very well. I will never forget his different stories and vocabularies. Thank you ‘ELC’.
